About Our Guests
Joan Baker & Rudy Gaskins
Joan Baker and Rudy Gaskins are the co-founders of the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS ™), the nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating, advancing, and preserving the art of the human
voice. Together, they have spent more than two decades championing voice artists through education, advocacy, recognition, and community.
Long before creating SOVAS ™, Joan and Rudy were already building pathways for voice talent. As founders of Push Creative, an award-winning
advertising agency, and Well Said Productions, an educational company dedicated to the craft of voice acting, they created opportunities for emerging artists to learn, grow, and connect with industry leaders. Through workshops, coaching, and special guest sessions featuring agents, casting directors, and respected professionals, they helped aspiring voice actors develop their skills and understand the business behind the craft.
Joan Baker is an award-winning voice actor, author of Secrets of Voice-Over Success, and an educator dedicated to mentoring and advancing the
profession.
Rudy Gaskins is an Emmy Award-winning producer, director, and creative executive whose vision has helped elevate voice acting as a globally recognized art form.
Together, Joan and Rudy created the Voice Arts® Awards and That’s Voiceover! Career Expo, now entering its 17th year, one of the leading educational and professional development events for voice artists. Through these initiatives, along with SOVAS™ educational programs, scholarships, advocacy, and community-building efforts, they continue to ensure voice artists receive the recognition, respect, and opportunities they deserve.

Tish is a 2020 Stevie Award Winner for Female Entrepreneur of the Year and the Dojo for Company of the Year. She is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Theatre Department where bringing stories to life was instilled as a way of life.
About The V.O. Dojo
Inspired by the discipline of martial arts and the fun and playfulness of improv, at The V.O. Dojo we encourage voiceover artists to approach their craft fearlessly and with the wisdom of a warrior.
Unlike many other training programs, the Dojo takes a wonderfully unique and holistic approach to the business of voiceover. We concentrate not only on formal skills and techniques but also on the mind/body/spirit connection necessary to communicate your truth and connect with your audience.
